I went to Jakarta International Festival (JiFFest) which shows 200 films from over 35 countries on last weekend. Some films are premier in the festival and will later be released commercially. But most of the films can only be seen during the 10 days of JiFFest, including the one I watched, Beyond The Call, which seems to be 1 of my favourite films.

Beyond The Call was produced for five years before it has its national theatrical distribution on November 24th, 2006 in Chicago. It's a documentary film that depicting the enterprising spirit of three aging Americans who form a humanitarian organization called Knightsbridge International. Rather than merely donating their money to other charitable organizations, the three men set out on an independent Robin Hood-like odyssey, visiting dangerous spots worldwide to lend their support to worthy causes. It's so cool....more like the adventure of Mother Teresa meets Indiana Jones.

It was so nice having the director, Adrian Belic, at JiFFest & told us that it was its premier. He also shared the thrills in filming the adventure of those 3 American knights. One of the unforgettable moments for him was when they had to stay in the shipped box for 7 hours to cross the country border (I forget which country).

This film indeed gives me a valuable lesson in reminding me that I should thank to God much much more often for what I have. You should watch this film & you will understand why I saw few men whose eyes were wet by the end of the film.
